On the Sunday 26th October Susan and Mary are walking 8km around the City of London to raise much needed funds for Afasic.
Afasic supports and provides information for families with children and young adults who have Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) with a focus on Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
Afasic’s vision is that every child and young person with speech, language and communication needs should be enabled to overcome the challenges they face and become the best they can be.
Afasic’s core purpose is to provide information and support for parents and carers, and also to health, education and care professionals, to enable them to better understand, help and advocate for children with speech, language and communication needs; and to enable children and young people to develop key skills, improve social integration and gain access to educational and legal entitlements.
Afasic is a small National charity and has to raise it's own money to operate and fundraisers like this are very important to keep the money coming in allowing Afasic to continue to offer all the services they do to families of children and young adults with Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping Susan and Mary.
